The house overlooks the village green where a tree was planted by Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to the island IN 1958. Shops and the village pub are all within walking distance also. You ll find the village of Bamburgh nearby as well as plenty of stunning beaches and castles on the mainland. The property is also within easy reach of the award-winning Dark Skies Park. Enter the cottage and step into the inviting lounge which offers a real cosy home-from-home feel. Relax on the sofa in front of the log burning stove perhaps while watching the TV or a DVD or curled up with a good book. If you choose to dine at the property you ll find everything you need in the kitchen; an electric oven and hob separate fridge and freezer washing machine and dishwasher. The dining room is spacious with ample room for the whole family to dine together. Upstairs you ll find the cottage s three bedrooms; the master is spacious with a king-size bed. There s also a bunk bedroom and a twin bedroom which has VELUX-style windows. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC while the shower room features a walk-in shower and WC. Heading outside you ll find a small patio area to the rear of the property the perfect spot for a peaceful drink or perhaps for planning your next day out. You will be perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland s numerous treasures including many stunning castles seaside towns and villages the Cheviot Hills the Northumberland National Park s Dark Skies Holy Island Seahouses Bamburgh and much more. In addition you are just over an hour away from the popular cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh. On entering this delightful single-level holiday cottage you will find yourself in the hallway . This leads you to the tastefully furnished lounge/diner. With a two seater sofa and two rush-seated armchairs a small TV complete with Netflix account coal-effect gas fire an upright piano which guests are welcome to use a toy chest with a range of board games a good selection of books maps and area guides and the dining table and chairs. Heading into the kitchen you will find it fully equipped with all the essentials including an electric oven and gas hob microwave fridge/freezer and digital radio. There are two comfortable bedrooms; the master bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom which has a shower over the bath and WC and the twin bedroom; with one 3 foot bed and a second 3 foot 6 inch bed. This room also has a selection of children s books a cupboard with hanging space and a chest of drawers. Next to this is a shower room complete with WC. This beautiful south-facing stone built property dates back to the late 1800 s. It is set in a lovely rural location easily accessible to all local amenities they city of Edinburgh and the coast. Located near to the sleepy village of Hutton situated off a quiet country lane this is a fantastic base to explore the unspoilt countryside of the Scottish/English border. Close by Chirnside Allanton and the medieval town of Berwick-upon-Tweed and many beautiful sandy beaches including Spittal and Coldingham. There are many local attractions within a short drive away including Floors Castle Bamburgh Castle Thirlstaine Castle Tantallon Castle Manderston House Mellerstain House Abbotsford Traquair House Jedburgh Deer Park Harestanes Farne Islands and East Links family park are to name a few. Paxton House is less than 4 miles away and has a lovely tea room and adventure play park there are activities on at certain times of the year here which are very popular with families there are some lovely walks around the estate boat trips and fishing are a few of the activities on offer here. Edinburgh is easily accessible by car or train the Berwick upon Tweed railway station is just 8 miles away and there is a regular train service which takes just over an hour. Entering the house you will walk through from the lobby into the cosy lounge enjoy an evening in front of the log burner the kitchen is accessed from the lounge and is well equipped with access out into the garden.
